Melbourne Tourist Attractions

Image : http://www.flickr.com
I love spending my vacations in Australia and my favorite destination is most certainly Melbourne. It is the second largest city in the country after Sydney and is located along Australia’s south coast. It is home to about 3 and a half million residents and they claim that it is one of the world’s most livable cities.
This city never gets boring to me as there are many wonderful attractions to visit, places to go shopping and beaches to head down to. I have listed down below some of my favorite tourist attractions in this Australian city.
Zoo
The oldest Zoo in the country is the Melbourne Zoo which was founded in 1862. I have been to zoos around the world and I rate this one as one of the best. It is in fact the 3rd oldest zoo on the planet. Be sure to visit the captive Lowland Gorilla breeding program. The opening hours for the zoo are daily from 09:00 until 17:00.
Luna Park
The Luna Park is located at St. Kilda beach and first opened its doors to the public nearly one hundred years ago. If you are planning a holiday with your kids then you simply must take them to this wonderful amusement park.
Melbourne Cricket Ground
This is one of the most important cricket grounds in the world and was built in 1853. It has a capacity of a hundred thousand and other sports are also played at the MCG including Aussie Rule Football.
Aquarium
The aquarium of this popular Australian travel destination is considered to be one of the finest in the world. This is definitely an attraction which visitors from all ages will enjoy and you can easily spend the entire day enjoying the aquarium. Please note that the opening hours of the Aquarium are daily from 09:30 until 18:00.
Royal Botanic Gardens
One of my favorite places in Melbourne is the Royal Botanic Gardens. It was built in 1863 and is home to a world class collection of both foreign as well as domestic plants. Be sure to also go on the Aboriginal Heritage Walk at the Royal Botanic Gardens. Opening hours at this wonderful venue are Monday through Friday from 09:00 until 17:00 and during the weekend from 09:30 until 17:00.

Southern End Patong Beach Phuket Thailand
www.phuketdining.com http patongdining.com http Southern End Patong Beach Phuket Thailand Patong Beach is probably the most popular beach in Phuket as you can see in the video, lots of beach chairs, vendors parasailing and jet skis. Parasailing is fun but it is a little bit pricey, during low season a 3 minute ride will run you (1000 Baht), high season can run from 1500 — 2000 Baht. Jet Ski rental is very popular and also pricey at Patong Beach; just be cautious on who you rent from, having insurance is always a wise choice. Beach chairs rental can cost up to 200 Baht, best bet is just bring a large beach towel. Over the years I really have not seen must different between the seasons, each and every day the beach is very crowded and congested. I have tons of updated video of Patong beach so please check back often.Thank you so much for stopping by and check back often for more of my Phuket videos. Do you love Phuket as much as I do? South Nai Thon Beach Phuket Thailand 2010
www.phuketdining.com http patongdining.com http South Nai Thon Beach Phuket Thailand 2010 Beautiful Nai Thon beach is one of Phukets northern most beaches, if I had to pick a sleepy quite beach Nai Thon beach would be my choice, I have been up to Nai Thon on several occasions and the beach is never crowded, in fact the beach is so peaceful you hardly run into any tourists. The major resort at this beach is the Naithonburi Beach Resort; even with this resort you don’t get that much traffic. Nai ThonBeach is very close to the airport about 10 -15 minutes, the road leading into the beach is in good shape, if you want major nightlife, you wont find it here, Patong beach the major nightlife hub is about a 45 minute drive from this location. I love to come up to Nai Thon for one of my distance swims and occasionally I will swim around the point over to Nai Yang beach; Nai Yang beach is on about 5- 7 minutes away, please check my video tour for that beautiful beach. Thank you so much for stopping by and check back often for more of my Phuket videos. Do you love Phuket as much as I do?
